Euglandina singleyana is a species of wolf snail that lives in Central Texas. Like its larger cousin, the Rosy Wolf Snail, the Striate Wolf Snail is a carnivorous species, actively hunting down and devouring smaller snails in its woodland ecosystem. It is native to Texas and poses no threat to the environment.
Unfortunately, this snail is on the IUCN Red List as a threatened species. Loss of habitat and predation by invasive rats and mice have severely reduced its population. The Striate Wolf Snail needs your help to survive. If you find one on a walk around the Texas Hill Country, please leave it be.
